Ultrasonic Cleaning
It is acknowledged that the stylus tip is very delicate and tiny. The HumminGuru S-DUO uses 110kHz of ultrasonic cleaning frequency which creates much smaller cavitation bubbles to remove dust, grime, and hardened dirt off the stylus tip thoroughly. The ultrasonic frequency of the cleaner is carefully selected and matched with an optimal amount of electrical power to avoid any damage and achieve effective cleaning in a safe manner. The process takes only 20 seconds by default with 3-4 drops of water (±0.3ml).
Unlike those stylus cleaners that utilize motor vibration to clean the stylus with a short-hair brush pad, the HumminGuru S-DUO uses ultrasonic technology to better protect and extend the life of the stylus with no existence of abrasion. Cleaning the stylus in the ultrasonic bath with water requires zero physical contact and thus it is risk-free to the surface of the stylus.
For a stylus with a bonded diamond tip, it is 100% safe to clean without damaging the adhesive in the water. For users who would like to use any type of cleaning solution, please refer to the manufacturer of the stylus cartridge for advice.

On the other hand, setting the correct tracking force of the stylus is also an essential step for ensuring the playback result and the life of the valuable records and cartridge. The digital pressure gauge is cleverly incorporated into the HumminGuru S-DUO device that makes the setup more convenient, faster, and easier for the user. With the feature of a bi-directional LCD display, the user can simply flip the device around and measure the downforce right after ultrasonic cleaning. Moreover, there is an automatic zero clearing when powering up the device, and the display value can be zeroed at any time with a simple touch of the gauge icon button.
The device is compatible with different types of cartridges such as Audio-Technica VM520EB, Denon DL-103, Denon DL-102, Ortofon 2M Red, etc. The product size is 12.5 x 7.1 x 3.8 cm (4.92” x 2.8” x 1.5”). With four AAA batteries installed, the weight of the device is only 176g (6.2oz).
